More about sleep paralysis

In over 80% of paralysis accompanied by a sense of danger sennemu or frightening hallucinations that is the impression lifted the body, the presence of hands on the throat or a vision of humanoid forms. Sometimes the person being under the influence of paralysis can hear the screams. This phenomenon is known to man for centuries. History is full of strange stories about the nocturnal visits of ghosts and spirits, etc. Galen already in ancient times was looking for logical reasons for these phenomena, arguing that their source may be associated with stomach problems. Some researchers have argued that the sleepy paralysis due to the activities of demons, witches, or attacking the other evil spirits. By contrast, in South Asia, sleep paralysis was considered the encounter with the evil genie, or any other demon. Repeatedly identified the sleepy demon was any female figure. Now scientists have found that there is also a link between paraliżami drowsy, and the alleged abduction by aliens. This problem is particularly apparent in the United States, because a large number of investigated cases of abduction have common features such as flashing lights, strange sounds, a feeling of paralysis, levitation, and the weight on the chest. It is believed that hallucinations of this kind are generated by the influence of contemporary popular culture. Disorders are probably produced by one of the physiological mechanisms in the brain. This is also linked to the REM sleep phase (at this stage there is a high brain activity, irregular breathing and appear in dreams.) Impact on the occurrence of sleep paralysis can be violent wake up from sleep and REM sleep during which there was no loss of consciousness. Sleep paralysis researchers say is the state of an individual, and hallucinations associated with paralysis are the result of brain activity. Scientists have proven that many people experiencing paralysis dream suffers from narcolepsy, or uncontrolled seizures daytime sleepiness caused by strong emotions such as joy or fear.
